Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for effectively maintaining facility equipment, maximizing production and material handling capabilities through utilization of our EAM system with as little planned down time as possible.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Facility #1286, located at: 4730 New Middle Rd, Jeffersonville, IN 47130

Responsibilities:

  • Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble
  • Dismantle or partly dismantle machines and performs repairs
  • Fabricate replacement parts, whenever possible, or take to machine shop for repairs
  • Work with production to get needed downtime of repairs for equipment
  • Recommend changes that will improve equipment and performance.
  • Contact equipment manufacturer for specific engineering changes or problems with equipment.
  • Operate building security and fire alarm systems.
  • Set up and operates standard machine tools; shapes metal parts to close tolerances; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, fees and speeds of machining; fits and assembles parts into mechanical equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematics.
  • Use a variety of machinist tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Repair and calibrate metering and measuring equipment, make appropriate adjustments and maintain a record of accuracies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment work visa status
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must have at least one year of maintenance or mechanical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred
  • Industrial, electrical or welding certifications, and/or a post-secondary/technical degree is preferred
  • Basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is preferred
