Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for Configuration Data Management process for a complex military system or vessel. The candidate will prepare configuration documentation, oversee configuration items, coordinate individual components for the product, and plan and execute configuration throughout the lifecycle of the project.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 1 to 7 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience as a CDM or Provisioner providing support to various USCG marine assets
  • Logistics Engineering, Supply, Maintenance Support, or Acquisitions experience
  • Experience working with logistics systems (especially Coast Guard/Navy logistics systems such as the Fleet Logistics System (FLS) and/or the Naval Engineering Supply Support System NESSS), and technical databases such as Haystack, WebFLIS, Fedlog, etc
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Procedures Cards (MPC) in both legacy and Asset Computerized Maintenance System format
  • Basic understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance principles, MPC development, and corresponding MPC accomplishment
  • Capable of reviewing, analyzing, and processing configuration data from multiple government-maintained data sources provided in various formats
SKILLS:
  • Provides updates/changes/corrections to property values for Configuration Item Functional Descriptions
  • Creates, manages, and updates Maintenance Standards (MS) associated with Recurring Tasks, Maintenance Items, Engineering Changes, Cutter Maintenance Decks, Cutter Maintenance Plans, Data Clean-up, and as directed by the customer
  • Performs initial provisioning upon system acquisition or through an engineering change process
  • Performs re-provisioning of systems affected by major support or philosophy changes
  • Properly routes a Repair Code Determination form based on research and item historical data Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills.

  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
